The race starts with a short teamtimetrial in Venice on Saturday, with Stapleton's Team Columbia and the Garmin, Astana and Saxo Bank squads expected to feature.
The 31-year-old Canadian secured the Giro with a strong individual timetrial on the final day, but along the way he got help from argyle colleagues in the mountains and in the teamtimetrial.
