It is a chance to stay in the country legally for six years, and then to apply for a green card in one of the categories that currently exist as a skilled or unskilledworker or family member, to get to the back of the line, to pay a fine, to learn English, to pay taxes.
To begin, maybe women who don't work outside the home are less likely to get divorced because of the drastic decrease in standard of living that comes when an "unskilled" worker tries to enter the workforce.
