An earlier exportlicence application for the painting in February 2000 was withdrawn after the RCEWA recommended that export be deferred for three months to allow time for a potential purchaser to be identified.
Ms Abeiderahmanne says she has had interest from upmarket stores like Harrod's and Fortnum and Mason, in London, and is trying to find an acceptable certification system in a bid to get an exportlicence.
