abstract:The National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) was a public authority in the UK created by the Radiological Protection Act 1970. Its statutory functions were to conduct research on radiological protection and provide advice and information on the subject to Government Departments and others.
As the Environmental report makes clear the emissions from the radar are many times lower than the safe levels set by the NationalRadiologicalProtectionBoard.
This theory was first aired a year ago following a small-scale study, and was ridiculed by the NationalRadiologicalProtectionBoard, the watchdog on health issues involving radiation and electromagnetic fields.
Mr Dolan said a study by the NationalRadiologicalProtectionBoard had said exposure levels from living near masts were "extremely low", with the overall evidence suggesting they were unlikely to pose a health risk.
